Organza Snippets and Mark making

I haven't gotten into making fabric postcards as I prefer the smaller atc size.  A friend recently gave me one though so I made her one as well. I cut snippets of green and orange organza on a decorative 4 x 6" piece of felt. I got the soldering iron nice and hot and fused all the pieces down with various shapes and lines and then straight stitched around all the fused marks I had made.  Also added a few french knots.  I backed it with a shiny piece of red foil Christmas wrap and fused around the edges. It was fun to make and relaxing to work on.  Feel like making one for myself now :)
A little more progress on my Sampler in Blue.  Had hoped to be further along of course.
We're having such a cool Spring that the lake is still mostly covered with ice.
Love seeing and hearing all the flocks of Canada and Snow geese heading north.
Caught this robin catching the morning light on his breast feathers.
I participated in the EAC atc exchange this year and received my 6 lovely atc's this week from the swap.  The cute little chick was from a member of the Starfish Youth Stitchers in Newfoundland and the Sunset came all the way from Australia!
This Shisha Bug atc is wonderful and was made by Joyce Gill who is the current president of the Embroiderer's Assoc. of Canada.  Lucky me.

Enjoy your day everyone :D

  6. What a wonderful collection of cards, both the one you made and the ones you received. What are the 'mirrors' made of on the Shisha bug card?

  15. That green Shisha Bug is beautiful! Lucky you to receive it...will be nice to have it to study up close, if you decide to stitch one. Your postcard is interesting and all the steps added a lot of texture. The blue sampler will be stunning I like the lacy looking border you have added.

  20. Lovely work done and lovely cards received. I was only thinking about organza the other day, thinking that I should do something with the stash I have of it, maybe seeing your creation will give me a spurt to get on with it.
