The trees and leaves were just pinned down at this point as I continued to experiment with my design.

Here is my finished quilt that I am quite happy with. The free machine sewing was a lot of fun on the water & sky. I did a leaf design all along the 2 side panels but they didn't show up very well. I especially like the cattails & the butterfly that I also did some hand embroidery on with gold thread.

After sewing the sky & water fabric together I took the plunge & cut out the hill shapes. After dabbing them all with glue & placing them on the fabric I sewed them down along the top edged with clear thread,
