Knotted Autumn Leaves

There certainly are a lot of buttonhole stitch variations out there!  Week 39 of TAST was the Knotted Buttonhole and since all the leaves here are turning colour and falling I thought that stitching a couple of autumn leaves was appropriate. It's a very easy variation of the regular buttonhole stitch and Sharon's written instructions and pictures were great.
We went for a fall photo jaunt to the marsh at Buffalo Pound Lake.  Stopped along the way at this wonderful old barn which thankfully wasn't posted with a no trespassing sign.  We are always on the lookout for old buildings to see if we can spot any owls.  HubbyWubby took a wonderful picture of a Great Horned Owl perched inside but it flew away just when I got there.  Took this picture of the barn though!!
Reeds at the marsh.  We haven't had any rain for a good month now so the water is low.
Seeing a flock of about 50 Trumpeter Swans at the marsh was thrilling and definitely memorable.  They certainly were loud too!
An evening shadow of moi against the dried salty marsh :)

  11. Love the swans and the marsh, and of course your buttonhole leaves too! I'm so far behind now on TAST, I don't know if I'll ever catch up. I seem to have lost my stitching Mojo...
