I'm a member of the Regina Stitchery Guild and back in January of this year we were given a neat stitchery challenge. We were each given one of these packages and the challenge was to stitch whatever we wanted from the material and threads inside and bring it to our annual dinner in June.
These were the threads & cloth in my package and for awhile I was stumped as to what to stitch.
I had previously made a couple of stitched peacock artist trading cards in nice purples and blues and thought that I'd see what I could do with the threads in my challenge package and this is how it turned out. One of my daughters works at a deli and she had given me this small round wooden cheese container (completely aired out so there's no lingering stinky cheese smell), so I made it into a lid. It will be fun to see what the other members of our guild have made.
What a great idea! I love the peacock!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Love the container too. I'm sure there must be peacocks of different colors in other parts of the world??
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty box, love the peacock!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting challenge! any pix of other people's take on this same material? I like very much what you made of it.
ReplyDeleteYou really did a beautiful job with such an interesting challenge. Blissful Stitching...
ReplyDeletelovely way to decorate the box
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun challenge! You did a very creative project with those threads. When I saw the colors I thought of a barn with a cat. It will be interesting to see what the rest of your group comes up with. Maybe they will let you photo all the projects so we can see too!
