1/2 Chevron Stitches

I think I'm starting to sound like a broken record when I say that once again this was a new stitch for me.  Week 19 of Sharon's TAST challenge on Pintangle was the half chevron stitch.  I looked through my embroidery books for the diagrams and instructions on how to do it but was so surprised that NOT ONE of my books mentioned, illustrated or explained how to do this stitch!  I had to go on-line to look at illustrations on how to do the 1/2 chevron and it took me a bit to get the hang of it.  It's certainly easier to do when you get it right and so I did a bunch of rows, then a few squares, star shapes and a couple of more rows.
My band sampler with the last three TAST challenge stitches.

  2. Fantastic! What a good idea to make a band sampler of all stitches of TAST.

  5. Very pretty stitching--I'd never heard of this stitch either. Your silk experiments turned out very well and I enjoyed your "13 Liner" post--I'd never seen such a squirrel.

  7. Once again, great stitching. Love the thread you have used. Of course I always go for anything that's blue or even close... I really enjoyed working this stitch - what about you?

  8. Like you Jenny I had problems finding instructions but enjoyed working this stitch and plan to use it in a sampler I am about to start. The mind boggles to think we are less than a fifth through the stitches only another 81 to go!
Thanks also for your comments left on my blog, have been a bit remiss in replying of late but catching up now
