A Little Summertime Brazilian
I'm trying hard to put in a few minutes of stitching time in each day but there's so much to do in the yard and garden and it's such a pleasure to be outside right now. Here is a small cluster of bullion stitch Lavender flowers worked using EdMar floss Glory 125. I haven't done much Brazlian Embroidery before (just one small strawberry piece) and I'm enjoying the lustre and smoothness of the threads.
These Blue Daises were worked using EdMar floss Iris 060 and the buttonhole stitch. The stem was couched and the leaves were done using an alternating satin stitch.
This small bush is done using the scroll stitch and EdMar floss Lola 402 while Iris 115 was used for the berries.
My poppies are certainly enjoying the sunny days right now and are blooming profusely this year.
Went for a walk in the hills and came across this gallardia in full bloom. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer days :)

ReplyDeleteI like the scroll stitch bush. I have just finished the TAST stitch of the week, the Wrapped Coral stitch and it reminded me of your Scroll bush.
Stitching can be done any time of the year but the garden can not be enjoyed as much as in summer so make use of the chance.

Beautiful embroidery and lovely flowers. I used to embroider long ago though I can't say I was good at it, but I loved it. Nowadays I don't do anything else other than crochet.

ReplyDeleteI tried my hand at Brazilian Embroidery about twenty years ago, adding small amounts to some hardanger pieces I was making at the time - I did love it, the flowers are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI like the scroll you stitch you used in the last picture - so beautiful with the little berries - I am sure I gave the thread to my mother years ago but I think I might try it with perle cotton and hopefully that will work!
