A Little Brazilian & Felting Fun

Not sure what Blogger did to this post but I had trouble for some odd reason. Anyways, here are a few more leaves done using the alternating stitch on Sylvia Murariu's Windy October.  Hope I'm finished it long before then.
These cast on flowers were tricky to do as the Brazilian Iris thread is very fine.

Had loads of fun with a few other wonderful ladies on the weekend as I tried my hand once again at felting. Here are my first couple layers of merino roving laid out.
Wrapped around the pool noodle and bubble wrap and ready to roll and roll and roll.

Rolled, rinsed and thrown into the sink a bunch of times to help with the felting process.

Also made a piece of fabric cloth with a layer of muslin covered with torn pieces of tissue paper, napkins and other bits.  Then I painted it with water mixed with glue and a bit of acrylic paint.  Plan to make this into a book cover.

A few more pieces of dyed cloth hanging in the courtyard to dry.  A very fun weekend.

  3. your brazilian work is beautiful Jenny. Can see you throughly enjoyed your creative weekend. Re the book cover piece, how did you attach the papers to the muslin, think your muslin is what we call calico here or is it very fine too, Also like the felt you have made

  4. Oh, I can see you had a good time!
The Brizilian project is a gem! I love the shine, but dislike the twisting-tangling-difficult-to-manipulate thread!
    Have fun!

  9. The Brazilian embroidery looks so very pretty. Seems you had fun felting. Fun, I just made a piece of fabric paper in the same colours last week! I turned a part of it into a birthday card which I'm going to share when it has arrived.
