Poppy Post

Playing with organza pieces that I fused making marks onto felt with the soldering iron.  Pistil stitches on the poppies.
Another postcard sized piece again with organza and mark making onto felt with the soldering iron.  I cut the poppy shapes out of a piece of polyester and used the pistil stitch for the centres.  The stems were some leftover pieces of spun wool.
A poppy unfolding in my flower bed.

Have a beautiful week everyone!

  5. You are able to capture the essence of the poppies so well with just a few fabrics and unusual tools. I would never have thought of using a soldering iron. Must remember pistil stitches for the middle.

  11. These turned out beautifully! I've used organza and a lit candle, but I haven't tried the soldering iron yet.
