Silk Paper Doodling

I absolutely love my Oriental Poppies but sadly the delicate petals don't last very long and in 2 days they are starting to wilt already.
With one of my shaving cream marbling pieces of fabric I made this seascape atc. I had fun playing with different stitches and adding some dyed bits of cheesecloth along the edges.
Close up of some doodling stitches:  straight stitch, fly, chain, buttonhole wheel and spiderweb wheel. I don't have any real design in mind but am simply enjoying stitching.
I received some lovely threads from Lorraine's Colour Complements shop and am using them to doodle on this piece of silk paper.

Have a wonderful summer day everyone :)

  2. Oh I have missed so much and love all of your wonderful stitchings. The leaves on silk paper are fabulous. I adore your hand bound book of Zentangled leaves. Those beautiful Red Poppies grow wild along the countryside in Provence France where I have just been. I am so happy to be home and able to read my favorite blogs. Your new avatar photo is beautiful and shows your very happy smile! Creative Bliss...

  3. The silk paper is a beautiful backdrop for your neat and elegant 'doodle' stitches. It is interesting to see the inspiration you get from the lovely poppies - surely there is a spiders wheel in the centre of the poppy!

  13. love your doodle stitching on the silk paper - your stitching is very beautiful and I like the stitch variations you've chosen - the spider web wheel is most effective!
I recently bought some hand-dyed cheesecloth and have yet to do anything with it - I love the interest it has added to the edges of your ATC.
I hope you're having a wonderful summer Jenny - it's hot here, but lovely all the same...
