One Wing

At first I was only going to work a couple of rounds of stem stitch for the head but it looked too bare. Looked much better by row number 7.  My woven picots for the wing feathers started off rather clumsily but certainly improved by the 20th one.  Hope I can get the other wing to look similar.  I also did a running chain stitch to set the wing off.  I'm definitely enjoying making it up as I go along!
My view out the window this morning of the ice still on the lake but at least water is sitting on top now.

  3. You have put a lot of hard (and hopefully fun) work into this charming owl. Lovely feathers and the head looks just right with all those rows of stem stitch. Looking forward to seeing more feathers!

  4. How fun making the owl up as you go!!! Looking fantastic!!! I can hardly believe the cold up there...I wish you could ship down 20 degrees of chill our way!!! It is already in the high 80's here and too hot if in the sun....in shade it is breezy and cool. Not too bad yet....just one more month and it will be sweltering!!!
