2nd Last Christmas Gift Finish

This was my first attempt at a crocheted hat and it is now in the mail winging its way to my sister who lives in Calgary, Alberta.  Yeah!!! Only one last gift to finish and then I'm ready freddy for Christmas. I found the pattern in The Reader's Digest Big Book of Weekend Crochet which a signed out from our local library.  It was easy enough to crochet but the yarn I used had some alpaca which unfortunately made it a bit scratchy.  I had a request to make another one in bright red wool but I won't be able to start that until next year.
This week we had a few days of  fog that was thick like pea soup.  When the sun finally came out we were left with a beautiful covering of hoar frost on everything.

The sharp-tailed grouse were in the yard this morning and I captured this beauty through the kitchen window.  This gorgeous mule deer was certainly looking at me intently through the front room window!

  6. The hat is cute and even though the yarn may have been scratchy to work with....it will be a warm hat. I like the pattern design.
