This past weekend our local stitchery guild put on 4 free learn-to-stitch classes that were 3 hours each. I signed up for 3 of them and helped with the silk ribbon embroidery class. They were all very enjoyable & it was great to see so many new faces and enthusiastic stitchers. The first class was Saturday morning from 9 to 12:00 & the project was this cross stitched biscornu. I had made one before and welcomed the opportunity to stitch with others and start another one.
This is the collection of hoops from those who took the silk ribbon embroidery class. Everyone was delighted with their ribbon roses and design.
One of the talented members of The Regina Stitchery Guild is also a designer and she offered one of her canvas work projects. This can work into either a scissors case or fabric bowl. Of course I'd like to do both but I'll try to make this into a fabric bowl first. I thoroughly enjoyed practising the ribbed wheel and Norwich stitches plus I love the colours!
The 4th class was one in needle felting. I hadn't done anything like it before, loved it and thankfully didn't even stab myself! This is as far as I managed to get in 3 hours. My flower & leaves still need more work but I'm very happy with how they are turning out.
