Autumn Leaves ATC

It'd been ages since I'd done any free-style machine sewing. It was great to do a bit last night if only to make some leaves with curly cues. I fused them out with the soldering iron & then stitched them onto my backing piece along some twisted brown wool.  Added a few french knots to spruce it up a bit & then stitched more brown wool around the edges.  Now I feel like making another one.  Maybe a tree with LOTS of fall leaves.

  1. So very pretty! It's funny, as long as I've had a sewing machine (35, 40 years?), I've never tried free-style machine sewing. Maybe I should give it a go!

  2. Thanks Susan. It was fun to make something on a whim with no real idea how it would turn out. :)

  3. Thanks Diane, we've had a sewing machine & a serger for as long as I can remember & I rarely sew. I think the sewing machine hates me as it tangles just about every time I try to use it.
