Beginning the double back stitch & blocks.
I like the look of this step stitch.
This design is worked with a double row of satin stitches and a honeycomb stitch variation called "bricking".
We recently went on a road trip and while I can't do pulled thread in the car I can crochet :)
This sweet little 13 Lined Ground Squirrel has made herself quite at home in our backyard.
Have a most delightful and lovely July day :)
Lovely work !! and an adorable squirrel..
ReplyDeleteThe pulled work is great... just another thing I've never tried but must some day...
ReplyDeleteIs that really his name? 13 Lined Ground Squirrel? ... must go look them up now... hahahaha
Beautiful!!!! Just beautiful work!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Gorgeous Whitework pulled threads. I couldn't do that any time or place and I am in awe of your ability to do so. Lovely crochet work. Little 13 looks very sweet indeed. I made the mistake two years ago of feeding little yard critters and all holy mayhem happened to destroy our yard and lawn. Mr. C was not happy!!! It took tremendous amounts of hard yard work and money to "eradicate" said pests. So sad. I sort of miss the little critters...but not their damages they caused. High on Life July Dear...
ReplyDeletePulled thread project is looking beautiful. Crocheted pieces are lovely. The squirrel is so cute looking.
ReplyDeletesorry Jenny I can only leave a comment on the reply button. When I see your stitchery it always makes me smile and oh and ah as it is always so beautiful, you must be so pleased with the way your pulled work is coming along so beautifully stitched. Crochet looks good too and I do like your little visitor. Have you signed up to Sharon`s tast that is restarting?
DeleteYour pulled work is gorgeous, it looks so lacy and delicate. Your crochet flowers are very cheery, I wish that I could crochet when travelling, if I just look at a book it makes me feel sick so I have to stick to the view through the window.
DeleteA lot of patience for those beautiful creations...
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day !
Anna
Lovely work :)
ReplyDeleteI've recently discovered the joys of crochet... let's just say that I'm hooked, at the moment! :D
Lovely! I recently started a white on white embroidery project and am finding it hard to differentiate the thread from the fabric. Do you have any tips?
ReplyDeleteI like the pulled thread chatelaine. It's beautiful! It's also a nice way to keep a record of different pulled work stitches. The ground squirrel looks really cute with his neatly folded paws.
ReplyDeleteI'm not on my blog much, but had to pop in to see what you've been up to! I see you are staying busy, as usual. These pieces are just amazing. Even in the car you have some quickie projects you can do! WOWZERS! The squirrel is a doll. Take care. Have a fun summer!

Oh Jeannette - your pulled thread chatelaine is looking beautiful, such lovely variations and just scrumptious! I so enjoyed doing pulled thread and drawn thread work many many years ago. Lovely. And your crochet flowers are such a perfect antidote, what fun. I love the little friend in your yard. xx
ReplyDeleteI've never done any pulled thread work (it's on my 'to try' list though). Looking forward to seeing your completed chatelaine (another thing that's on my list to make!)
ReplyDeleteHm, what happened to my comment? I was admiring your lovely pulled threadwork anyway!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about slow - seems like steady progress to me, and looking good. The crochet is great - I'd like to reach a point where I can do that kind of work on a journey without constantly referring to a pattern.
ReplyDeletepulled thread chatelaine is beautiful..lovely crochet flowers
ReplyDeletewonderful pulled thread work. nice and bright crochet flowers.
ReplyDeleteOh, the chatelaine is soooo pretty, Jenny! I know I do not have the patience to attempt anything like this! and the ground squirrel is just adorable.....have you named her? I have to give all my regular visitors names. there's a toad living near our back doorstep. her name's Violet :)))
