Poppies and Bugs Felted Finish

 Added this little snail by stitching over and covering 2 small pieces of felt. 
 This little blue beetle was also stitched over a very small piece of black felt
 and the same for the ladybug.  I found a great tutorial on stumpwork beetles from Sew in Love's blog.
 Here's the next piece of felt that I'm going to embroider on.  Not sure what I'll do exactly but perhaps I'll try a butterfly.  Thought experiments are brewing.
 Finished Poppies and Bugs.  I took it to our stitchery meeting on Tuesday for show and tell. Seeing what everyone is making is definitely a high light of each meeting.
I'd had this free pattern for quite a while and finally made it.  I dyed a small piece of linen and stitched it up in no time. Pattern available at ajisaipress.com

    Love the poppies and the little bugs. Such a good idea to add felt bits under them to add dimension. All the extra stitching and embroidery added up to one beautiful piece. I bet all those in your group loved it!

    I really like your bugs and your felted pieces. They are interesting as well as beautiful. So inspiring. Thank you, too, for the link to the 'Keep Calm' project. It fit the message so well. I like that message a lot - and don't like many of the adaptations. It pays such tribute to the spirit of a community.
