Bonnet Stitch Bonnet

Take A Stitch Tuesday for Week 27 was the Bonnet Stitch. It took me a few tries before I got the knack on how to do it correctly.  I knew right away that I was going to try stitching a bonnet but it sort of looks more like a foot with a ribbon around the ankle.  I fun stitch nevertheless :)
Progress on my band sampler.  When I'm finished with this strip I'll hem the sides and add it to all my other pieces.
A beautiful Avocet looking for bugs in the marsh area at the far end of Buffalo Pound Lake. Love it's blueish legs.
We were up in the hills around Buffalo Pound Lake looking for a badger we had spotted a couple of weeks ago.  Didn't see the badger but I came across some harebells.  A bit of blue amongst the meadow grass is always lovely.
It has a yellow blossom when in bloom but what's really striking about the Goats-Beard plant is when it goes to seed and produces such a showy large seed head around 4 inches in diameter.  I always enjoy looking for and finding these plants every summer.

  1. colours of your bonnet are so delicate and I see what you mean, it could be a bonnet or maybe a foot am sure there should be a bit of wit there but can`t think of anything at the moment.
Are the avocet`s legs blue with cold from standing in the water or do they always have blue legs I wonder.

  2. Isn't nature wonderful love how you have captured the Avocet with the reflection his blue legs match your bonnet or is it a bootee for his cold blue legs hehe.
